So, I can officially recommend going swimming in your pyjamas. No one batted an eyelid and it worked out perfectly well. And I am so glad I did as it was ROASTING and the water was icy and it was just perfect. I had a little swim about, watched a caterpillar on a leaf for a while, floated around til I got a bit wrinkly then came back upstairs in my bathrobe.
Then I came back upstairs and got changed, rigged up an impromptu drying facility (i.e. put a chair out on the balcony), had a shower and went shopping for some supplies. Imagine my delight to find custard filled pancakes the instant I walked in the door of the mini mart! Jo, mar-c – you can choose between Thai or ordinary custard! And also jam! And the best thing of all – they cost but 5 bhat, which in earth pounds is 8p.
So, I came back and had something to eat and decided that I would check out TV which is one of the following at any time (ANY time):
Adverts for the Bionic Woman TV show featuring Zoe Slater from Eastenders.
English football, usually Liverpool playing (Lee, you would l-o-v-e it!).
American Idol results show.
I have seen American Idol twice now, the same show. I am not sure if we are on the same time as in the UK, but David Hernandez has been voted out, fact lovers.
I had thought about going for a walk around the surrounding area last nite but I was too tired – I decided to stay up late instead of going to bed so as to try and get straight into a proper routine. So I just hung out as the Americans say and watched TV, read my book, looked at outside and enjoyed the air con being at 10 degrees.
I managed to get to bed about 930pm and slept on and off until about 6.45am when I was awoken by a woman shouting stuff over a loudspeaker. I was highly confused and was out on the balcony for a few minutes trying to work out if it was a fire alarm or something that I had slept thru before I realised it was coming from what looks like a primary school across the road. There were hoards of kids standing around in orange polo shirts at least, so I think that is what it was. I went back to bed and stared at the ceiling for a few hours before I decided to give the swimming in pyjamas another go and then came back and here I am!
Tonite I am going to go finally meet Liz and go to the nite bazaar which is not too far from here. I can’t wait to get to the nite bazaar! It is so much fun, so much to see and a great atmosphere so I am really excited. The bad news is that it is supposed to be being shut down as they have sold the land to build, what else, a new shopping mall. I say noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I was just about to sign off there and the woman started shouting thru the tannoy again. I went out to investigate and there were no kids outside this time. It sounds like she might be saying numbers (hark at me – I have no idea what she is saying, it’s in Thai), I can’t figure it out. I will ask someone and report back!
Now, I am off to reorganise my hasty unpacking from yesterday and look up where marks and spencers is as exploration of that has been scheduled for tomorrow as I couldn’t be dicked today 🙂
